Theory of the Tyrant (unfinished)

In a theoretical world filled of superficial theories, where is the tyrant? Backed against a wall of falling glass Wager yells out, "My reality is your simulation of my mind."

The Tyrant replies, "What makes this case so perplexing is your constant belief in reality. What if this is a simulation, then what does it matter to you?"

"I believe in free will, a simulation then means that everything I believe is a lie."

"Yes, but still what does it matter? If everything is a lie, then nothing is true. However nothing can't be true since nothing doesn't exist, and truth is there because it is my truth in this simulation."

"So is this why the tyrant is a tyrant? You've created a reality based on a lie that is steeped in truth that is your own truth that I must accept as my own."

"Indeed", chuckles the Tyrant, "For if you decide to try to find your own truth outside of the truth I've given you...well you'll go insane."

"So I guess then that Pascal was right in his assumption of God?"

"Yes and no, it depends on your beliefs. I am just the creator of the simulation. For all you know I am the creator of only your simulation and not the other people you meet. My truths might only apply to you and no one else. Do you really want to take that bet?" The Tyrant watches as Wager weights these thoughts in his head. Tyrant perceives the inner-workings of his simulation; the thoughts scroll out onto Tyrant's computer in a box near the bottom of the screen. "Hmm, this is very perplexing to dear Wager," says Tyrant to himself, "I wonder what happens when I take away parts of his thoughts."

"Stay out of my head Tyrant," screams out Wager, "Stay out of my goddamn head and let me think!"

"Why Wager? I want to experiment; it's just for a little fun."

"It's not fun to me. How'd you like if I played with your thoughts, deleting and constructing whatever I wanted you to think?"

"So you do have free will don't you Wager?"

"No I don't Tyrant. You can hold me accountable for my actions; you have complete control over my life."

"Silly Wager, don't you see how much more complex this is?" Tyrant lets out a hearty laugh. "Excuse me Wager; I wasn't laughing at you, just your ideas. You have the ability to live your life however, you want and I have the ability to either let you or control you. Nothing is predetermined." Tyrant stops to ponder for a moment," I lied Wager; this simulation is predetermined because I either control you, or you control yourself. If I let you control yourself, then the simulation will still be running the program, taking away your free will. Casual Determination is probably the better way to explain it."

"I understand that Tyrant, but free will can still work in even a casual determination simulation. I can still change the simulation by not doing what is determined of me."

"Then what is the point of even casual determination Wager? You can't explain that."

"The point of casual determination is for if people don't want to let their lives drag them along. See how it works Tyrant?"

"More or less..."
