I'm a fan of sources like MSNBC, DailyKos, and Huffington Post- I won't deny that., But I also force myself to partake of slightly more moderate sources, as well: The Economist, The History Channel, CNN, and C-SPAN, which I watch just for British Parliament sessions, which are very entertaining.

I have a lot of "favourites" when it comes to music. It really depends on my mood. Some of my favourite bands/singers are: Ten Years, Panic! at the Disco, Seat Belts, Pink Floyd, Frank Sinatra, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Nightwish, Epica, Apocalyptica, Evanescence and a many more that I'm sure I don't remember at the moment.

I'm in China... I usually ask my friend for a brief outline of the news, but I read a few from whatever sources I have time to get offline. Mainly Reuters since it is not blocked here. When I was in the States, it was CNN and BBC.
