Ignorance
Innocence is what fills a child's eyes
And mind.
Their worst fears so simple;
Whether it be if they can get that new toy,
Or a monster hides under the bed.
Joy fills a child's heart.
No worries of the future,
No pain from a love alone.
Only that the rain hits the ground,
And their rainboots are too small
To play
Freely outside.
Smiles fall upon a child's face.
How easily they do
Read them a story,
Tickle them pink; the most fun they've ever had.
Imagination fills a child.
The most creative thing we'll ever be.
But the worries of the world fall upon us,
Squeezing miserably out our
Innocence,
Our Joy. We know now not of
Why we smiled so.
