Word Selection

Congratulations to everyone who made a submission to the last contest. It ended last night, and there is a list of those who made a submission under the last announcement.

Your points will be added within the next couple days.

Now, we offer you another chance to get some bonus points. Once again, this opportunity will be worth 100 points towards the Blogging for Progress Scholarship on the main site.

Your challenge this time is to write a story or poem containing the following words.

  • flower
  • new
  • China
  • trash
  • fall
  • cedar
  • door
  • egg
  • man
  • write

You may use any form of the words. For example, 'flowers' will count for 'flower', and 'writing' will count for 'write.' The form has to relate to the function of the word, though. For example, 'beggar' cannot be used in place of 'egg,' even though 'beggar' contains the word 'egg'.

In order for your submission to be judged, you must submit it through this form. If it is not submitted via the form, your submission will not be judged and you will not get points for it. Your story/poem must also be submitted via the form by midnight PDT on April 13, 2008.

Thanks to this form, you are free to submit any works you've already submitted to the site if they meet the criteria.

Reminder: You must submit your works to the creative writing site. If they are posted to the main site, they will be deleted and/or not judged.

Best of luck, and feel free to leave a comment with any questions you may have!

    What's the word minimum? O:

...is it cheating if I go back and edit one of my stories to include those words?

150 for a story, I believe, and nothing for a poem.

I don't really care how you go about doing it, just as long as the words fit into the story/poem (so just randomly adding someone saying 'egg!' isn't a good idea).

No word limit for poems?? That should be easy then, assuming I get some form of motivation by April. XD

And of course not. That WOULD be cheating.

Silly question, but can the words be in any order, or do they have to appear in the order listed?

Any order at all... I don't care.

We don't. We give points to you as long as you fulfill the requirements of the contest.

Click the link on the right side of the screen that reads 'create content'. Pick the appropriate category, and submit it. Then come back and use the form to let me know you've made a submission.
